Alan's New Job at RCMS Group

Alan started this new job about a month ago. He is doing Building Information Modeling (BIM) with Revit a 3D CAD modeling system. (I don't really understand it all, I smile and nod a lot.) I do know that last week he was working on making doors and windows for a new high school somewhere in California. He was just given a one month contract because his bosses boss wasn't sure that Alan could do the job because he is pretty fresh out of college and doesn't have the many years experience like everyone else. Well, 3 days before his contract was up, RCMS Group let some contract workers go do to lack of work. Alan, was really disappointed that he didn't even get to finish out his one month contract. Before he left work that day he got an email from his boss saying, come to work tomorrow, but don't tell anyone. He was glad but unsure of what to do. Everyone else was packing up their things when they went home. If he packed up his stuff he would just have to bring it back the next day and if he didn't pack up his stuff the other workers would ask why isn't he taking his stuff home? So, he just waited till he was the very last person to leave the office that night. The next day his boss talked to Alan and said that it took him everything he had to keep him on his team. He did it because he saw a lot of potential in Alan. Then, he ended the conversation with 'Don't let me down now!'
No, pressure on Alan! jk We are very grateful and blessed that he was able to keep his job. They are supposed to get a very large BIM contract next week and if they get it, it could be about a years worth of work. Hopefully things continue in a positive direction.
I am so proud of Alan, he has been working really hard and putting in a lot of hours to prove to his bosses boss that he can do this and that he has a lot to offer the company. Even if he doesn't have 5-10 yrs experience.
